Recently, Equine Medical Service made the decision to sponsor two very incomparable young equestrians: Jennifer Rose-Nyberg, an un-beatable professional barrel racer, and Trevor Lytle, a team roping all-star. The athletes chosen are nothing but exceptional, and are certainly on a direct path to the top of their sports. Equine Medical Service is honored to have such ambitious equestrians wearing the EMS logo on their backs.
Jennifer Rose-Nyberg, a spirited and exuberant 23-year-old barrel racer, has come to establish herself in the pro rodeo circuit as a challenging opponent and determined competitor. Jennifer entered the professional rodeo circuit in 1997, at the young age of 17, performing in her primary sport, barrel racing. During her years in the pro circuit, Jennifer has collected over $60,000 in winnings, and we are certainly going to see more. Racing for nearly 19 years, Jennifer has come to win several titles as well. In 1997, Jennifer was nominated The Women’s Professional Rodeo Association Division Tour National Rookie of the year. Another one of Jennifer’s truly magnificent wins was in 2000 when she placed first in the Omaha, Nebraska, stock show AK-S AR BEN pro rodeo barrel race. Jennifer’s unusual racing ability has led her to success nearly everywhere she traveled during touring the United States and Canada.
Jennifer’s success must also be attributed to her horses; as everyone knows, a barrel racer cannot win without a fast and accurate barrel horse.
Jennifer is currently running off of two superb barrel horses, Jett, and Casper. Jennifer is also starting and working several other barrel horse prospects. Jett is a 12-year-old Quarter Horse gelding, who loves to run, and he is certainly good at it. Casper, Jennifer’s 16-year-old Quarter Horse gelding, recently brought Jennifer to an astonishing 14.361 second run at the Rappels Arena in Gill, Colorado, on January 12th. Casper, although slightly nervous and weary of people, is in love with the barrels, and, when put to the test, will do nothing less than run his heart out.
Jennifer and her two geldings are nothing short of an amazing team. Equine Medical Service is amazed at the progress that Jennifer Rose-Nyberg is making on all of her horses, and is looking forward to supporting her in her future endeavors.
Another promising young equestrian Equine Medical Service is proud to sponsor is Trevor Lytle, a 17 year old team roper with not only the talent, but the determination and presence to turn him out on top. Roping since he was 11, Trevor has been an active member in the Little Britches Rodeo for over four years, the Colorado High School Rodeo last year, and this year he is participating in the Wyoming High School Rodeo. Trevor’s dedication to the sport has not been with out its rewards either; it has led him to win three saddles, numerous belt buckles, and countless victories. In fact, Trevor made his way to third place in the world in the 2001 Little Britches Rodeo Circuit, running only 40 points shy of second place, not an easy feat for a 15 year old. Trevor’s latest large victory was this past roping season when he qualified for the 2002 United States Team Roping Championships, (USTCR) in Oklahoma City. But, as they say, a rider can only be as good as the horse he is riding, and Trevor is no exception to the rule.
Trevor has had several great horses running under him, bringing him to excel in both the heading and heeling elements of team roping. Trevor has two excellent heeling horses he has been roping off of, Alf and Jett. Jett, Trevor’s 5-year-old registered Paint Horse gelding, was National Little Britches Horse of the Year in 2001 after bouncing back from a near fatal injury only a few months earlier. Jett is currently being trained as a heading horse. Alf, Trevor’s 8 year old registered Quarter Horse gelding, was added to Lytle’s team only a few months ago, but this 14.3 hand power-house has winner written all over him. There is even yet another member of Trevor Lytle’s roping team. Cole, Trevor’s heading horse is an energetic and speedy 9-year-old Quarter Horse gelding with amounting potential. Cole is for sale and if you would like more information about him, see the advertisement on page 3.
Trevor Lytle has all of the skill and support to place him among the high rollers, and Equine Medical Service does not only feel proud, but privileged to help such a young rising star on his journey to the top.
